Global Business Classes Visit Chamber of Commerce

The School District of Washington’s CAPS Global Business classes visited the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce office on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Students in the classes got an overview of what the chamber of commerce does, how it performs its duties and how it serves the community. They also received a rundown of community events and other projects put on by the chamber of commerce.

The chamber of commerce employees gave the students a tour of their newly renovated building, visiting offices of the tourism director, marketing director and finance director. They also visited the office for the Washington Town and Country Fair.

Speaking to the students were Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jennifer Giesike and Director of Marketing Amanda Griesheimer.

The CAPS Global Business class focuses on business innovation. Students learn foundational skills in the area of business when starting a company. They engage with real professionals in the field throughout the process.
