Global Business Visits Washington Historical Society

The School District of Washington’s CAPS Global Business classes visited the Washington Historical Society on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Downtown Washington Inc., on Thursday, Sept. 13.

Students visited the Historical Society as part of a unit where they are studying the history of Washington, Mo., and industries that inspired ancestors to become entrepreneurs. Marc Houseman, museum director, led the students on a tour.

Students learned the daily operations of Downtown Washington, Inc., and how the staff promotes the downtown area in a fiscally responsible manner. They also took a tour of different locations throughout the downtown Washington area.

The CAPS Global Business class focuses on business innovation. Students learn foundational skills in the area of business when starting a company. They engage with real professionals in the field throughout the process.
