Teaching Careers Student Noah Bohn Receives Breaking Traditions Award

Noah Bohn, a Sullivan High School student in the Teaching Careers program at the Four Rivers Career Center, recently was recognized as the Region 6 Breaking Traditions Award recipient.

The Breaking Traditions Award is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in order to recognize outstanding non-traditional career and technical students and the adults who support them.

Teaching Careers instructor Jenny Meers nominated Bohn because of his outstanding work in the program. Bohn is focusing on becoming an elementary teacher, which mostly consists of females.

Bohn will receive a $100 prize through the Missouri STEM foundation and also will qualify for a number of scholarships at various local community colleges.

Presenting the award to Bohn was Jackie Marling, who was representing the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Meers also was recognized for making the nomination.
