Teaching Careers Students Compete at Ed Rising State Conference

Students in the CAPS Teaching Careers program competed in the Missouri Educators Rising State Conference on Wednesday, March 4.

A total of 13 students from the chapter competed, and nine went home with medals, qualifying for the National Competition June 18-21 in Washington D.C.

The state medalists were:

Fifth place chapter competition – Inside Our Schools: Sarah Becszlko, Mia Harting, Sophia Olszowka and Maria Ruth.

Tie for fifth place Job Interview: Abigail Neely and Paige Whittall.

Fifth place Impromptu Speaking-: Richard Hutson

Fourth place Impromptu Speaking: Maria Ruth

Third place Children’s Lit Pre-K: Nicole Brinker and Kamryn Miller

Third place Public Speaking: Lauren Hoerstkamp
